What is MMA?
Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full contact combat sport that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques and skills, from a mixture of martial arts traditions and non-traditions, to be used in competitions. The rules allow the use of both striking as well as grappling techniques, both while standing and on the ground. Such competitions allow martial artists of different backgrounds (Boxing, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, etc) to compete.
What should I expect in your MMA class?
MMA Class is where we put it all together for you. You will learn how to strike, wrestle, and grapple in an mma context. You will have specific mma warm-up drills and be taught the strongest and most innovative mma techniques.
Is there sparring?
Yes, we spar every class after the warm-up drills and techniques. Sparring will include grappling (wrestling & bjj) and striking (boxing, muay thai) and full mma (all styles) sparring. Of course sparring portion of all our classes are optional.
Is it okay if I’m a beginner? I’m a big fan of the UFC and want to train in this.
Yes, H2O MMA, has new students like yourself everyday. We are here to teach everyone and will give everybody great attention. Our great schedule also ensures smaller class sizes which make H2O MMA an excellent school for those of all levels.
I am a pro fighter. Will this program be good for me?
Yes, Team H2O MMA, has trained and is home to top pro mma fighters Olivier Aubin-Mercier (4-0), Mario Pereira (3-0) & Dominique Trepanier (2-0) all perfect records! Even international pro fighters like “UFC & Wolfslair’s” Cheick Kongo have come to train with us. Our Team is like a family (which includes BJJ Black Belts, Olympic Medalists, World Champions, MMA Champions, & more) who care about our fighters and are dedicated to give you a world class mma training.
